About Shel

My name is Shel and I am a Behavioral Consultant at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, as well as an Early Childhood Family Specialist as endorsed by the Michigan Infant Mental Health Association. I have been working with children in various capacities for more than 20 years. I provide one-on-one support services in preschools, as well as in-home social skill development through play-based activities like music, storytelling, and games. I hold a B.S. in Family and Consumer Resources from Wayne State University. My husband and I have raised two sons together, and enjoy watching them grow.

Our Philosophy

My passion is working with children and collaborating with parents, in honoring and advocating for their child's unique and special differences. I believe in promoting each child's individuality and development through play-based learning and exploration.

Our Team

Ira Glovinsky, PhD

I am a fully licensed psychologist working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their parents. My background is in the education of young children who are presenting with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. As a psychologist, I feel that comprehensive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary work is needed to formulate the best intervention plan for children and families. I have found that my partnership with Shel is extremely helpful with developing a comprehensive picture of what is going on and how the child and the parents can get the best help.

Shel Krasman, B.Sc, ECMH-E®

I am a Behavioral Consultant at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, as well as an Early Childhood Family Specialist as endorsed by the Michigan Infant Mental Health Association. I have been working with children in various capacities for more than 20 years. I provide shadowing services in preschools, consultation with educators, and in-home social skill development through play-based activities like music, storytelling, and games. I feel that being in tune with children’s needs and engaging with them on their level as well as nurturing trust and respect between parents, children, and colleagues is essential to the work that I do.

Susie Weiner, M.Sc

I hold a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street School of Education. I am currently in my 8th year of being the Director of the Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, MI. When I am around children my heart is full. I believe young learners make sense of their world through play. My biggest joy is listening in as children are problem solving with imaginative play and working through something that is going on in their lives. Being part of this team with Shel allows me to do the work I love most, collaborating with educators, families, and young children.
